PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of restraining the occurrence of a defect caused by foreign matter on a surface of a coated paste-like object.SOLUTION: The coating apparatus 10 comprises a storage part 44 of active material paste 12 and a comma roll 47 arranged in a state of separating a clearance S above metallic foil 11. The coating apparatus 10 comprises a crushing roll 50 arranged on the upstream side more than the clearance S among the supply direction Y of the active material paste 12 to the metallic foil 11 from the storage part 44 and a driving source for rotating the crushing roll 50.
