PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that a high-potential power supply terminal and a low-potential power supply terminal are prevented from being electrically connected to each other even in a memory card slot device for which a memory card insertion operation and a memory card detachment operation are carried out manually.SOLUTION: A detection unit of a memory card slot device according to an embodiment detects that a memory card is pushed into a predetermined push-in position in back of a predetermined memory card holding position in a memory card slot. A controller starts supplying power to the memory card, detects that the memory card is pushed again to the push-in position, and cuts off supply of power to the memory card if the memory card is inserted into the memory card and pushed into the push-in position on the basis of a detection result of the detection unit.
