PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage regulator that can prevent reduction in output voltage or increase in output noise without suppressing overshoot in a steady state.SOLUTION: A voltage regulator comprises: an overshoot detection circuit 110 detecting overshoot on the basis of an output voltage; an overshoot suppression circuit 130 controlling an output terminal of an error amplification circuit on the basis of an output of the overshoot detection circuit; and a driver state discrimination circuit 120 that discriminates a state of an output transistor on the basis of an output voltage of the error amplification circuit. The driver state discrimination circuit is configured to control an operation of the overshoot suppression circuit. |
