PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal and a portable information terminal system capable of ensuring security without hampering convenience.SOLUTION: Provided is a portable information terminal 1 which comprises: a radio communication part 11 for communicating with an external device; a positioning part 12 for acquiring current position data; a recording part 13 for recording use permission range data; and a control part for controlling the state of the portable information terminal 1. When either a first condition in which a current position indicated by the current position data is within a use permission range indicated by the use permission range data or a second condition in which the radio communication part 11 communicates with a radio access point 20 installed within the use permission range is met, the control part 14 controls the portable information terminal 1 so that it can be used. When neither the first condition nor the second condition is met, the control part 14 controls the portable information terminal 1 so that it cannot be used. |
