PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength sweep light source having timewise stability of optical output, a sweep wavelength band, and a coherence length.SOLUTION: A wavelength sweep light source forming an optical resonator between an end surface mirror and an output coupling mirror includes a gain medium having one end surface that is coupled, through an optical deflector, to a wavelength filter composed of a diffraction grating and the end surface mirror and the other surface opposite to the output coupling mirror. The optical deflector comprises: an electro-optic crystal; at least two electrodes formed on surfaces of the electric optical crystal opposite to each other; and a control voltage source for outputting control voltage for forming, through the electrodes, an electric field in the electro-optic crystal. The optical deflector deflects incident light incident along a light axis appropriately perpendicular to a direction of the electric field formed by the control voltage to a direction in parallel with the electric field. As the control voltage, the control voltage source outputs drive voltage composed of AC voltage on which positive or negative DC bias voltage is superposed. |
