PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning type endoscope apparatus capable of acquiring an image whose distortion is suppressed even when a moving speed in a visual field range increases, and a control method thereof.SOLUTION: A scanning type endoscope apparatus 1 includes: an optical fiber that guides the light from a light source 2 and emits it from an emission end; a drive part that displaces the emission end of the optical fiber in a direction crossing the optical axis, and is provided with a scanner for scanning the light emitted from the emission end in an observation object; a light detection part 6 for receiving return light from the observation object when the light is scanned by the scanner; a speed detection part 7 for detecting a moving speed of the scanner; and a control part 9 for controlling the drive part so as to shorten the length of a scanning locus of the light in the observation object according to an increase in the moving speed detected by the speed detection part 7. |
