The present invention relates to a method for controlling a power trunk or a power tailgate. The present invention comprises the steps of: confirming an opened state or a closed state of a power trunk or a power tailgate; measuring a hall count of a left spindle motor and the hall count of a right spindle motor; stopping operation of the left spindle motor and the right spindle motor and outputting an alarm; stopping operation of the left spindle motor and the right spindle motor and outputting the alarm; performing a synchronization motion between the left spindle and the right spindle; and maintaining a current output ratio of the left spindle motor and the right spindle motor. According to the present invention, the power trunk or the power tailgate is more stably operated in a vehicle having the power trunk or the power tailgate.
