The present invention relates to a method for post-processing of character recognition and a character recognizing apparatus using the same. According to the present invention, the method comprises the steps of: firstly comparing a recognized string acquired through reading characters with a target string and a suspicious string; determining whether the recognized string includes a suspicious character when the recognized string is consistent with the target string in the first comparison; analyzing the suspicious character of the recognized string when the recognized string includes the suspicious character or the recognized string is consistent with the suspicious string in the first comparison; secondly comparing the recognized string with the target string and the suspicious string, based on the result from analysis of the suspicious character; and determining that the recognized string corresponds to the target string when the recognized string is consistent with the target string in the second comparison and determining that the recognized string corresponds to the suspicious string when the recognized string is consistent with the suspicious string in the second comparison.
