Provided are a method and an apparatus for filtering images in the processing of an MPEG-7 descriptor. The apparatus for filtering images in the processing of an MPEG-7 descriptor provided by the present invention comprises: a filtering module selecting any one of multiple filtering methods to perform a filtering for the images; a feature extracting module extracting features from the filtered images; and a classifying module using a neural network classifier based on the extracted features to classify the images.
