The present invention relates to an electrolyte composition comprising an active ingredient and an organic acid having one or more carboxylic groups and to a redox flow battery using the same, wherein due to the electrolyte composition comprising an organic acid having carboxylic groups, the corrosion of the cell can be reduced, thereby decreasing a risk of the battery and providing a redox flow battery having excellent charge/discharge capacity and the level of the corrosion of an ion exchange membrane and a current collector can be reduced, thereby providing a redox flow battery which can extend a period until replacement of the device.
