<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment method which enables a sulfur-based COD component and a nitrogen component to be concurrently removed from alkaline wastewater containing the sulfur-based COD component and the nitrogen component and having a pH of 8.5 or more, and enables the sulfur-based COD component to be stably reduced even when the wastewater contains an SCNcomponent as the sulfur-based COD component.SOLUTION: There is provided the wastewater treatment method comprising: preparing a mixed water by mixing sea water with alkaline wastewater containing a sulfur-based COD component and a nitrogen component; causing the mixed water to permeate a fixed bed bioreactor and contacting the mixed water with a carrier inside the bioreactor at a pH of 8.5 or more and 10.5 or less and under an anoxic sulfur-oxidizing condition; and adhering a microbial population to the carrier and making microbes proliferate to concurrently remove the sulfur-based COD component and the nitrogen component.</p> |
