Provided is a fluorescent material characterized by having a composition represented by formula (1). Formula (1): (Sra,Bab,Eux,M1 d,M2 e)SiOf·cMgO (Here, M1 is at least one type of Group 3 element selected from among Y and Tb, M2 is an alkali metal selected from among Li, Na and K, 0 < a < 2, 0 < b < 2, 0 ≤ c < 1, 0.001 ≤ d ≤ 0.06, 0 ≤ e ≤ 0.06, 0 < x < 0.1, and 3.7 ≤ f ≤ 4.1). Also provided is a light-emitting device characterized by including this fluorescent material and a light source that causes light emission by irradiating the fluorescent material with excitation light. |
