When a main switch (82) is on, a controller (80) permits a sliding door to be opened/closed by the driving of an electric motor (41), and when the main switch (82) is off and a half-latch switch (66) is on, the controller performs braking control which causes the electric motor (41) to generate braking force. When the main switch (82) is on, the sliding door can be opened/closed automatically. When the main switch (82) is off and the sliding door is closed manually, the half-latch switch (66) turns on before reaching a fully latched state, and the controller (80) performs braking control on the electric motor (41). Thus, it is possible to reliably prevent, for example, damage to constituent components caused by the inertial force of the electric motor (41) in association with the sudden stop of the sliding door, without increasing the rigidity of the casing, etc. |
