Disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention is a measurement method based on a mobile terminal, the measurement method comprising: determining that a measurement reference value is the length of the long side or wide side of a mobile terminal; measuring the rotational angular velocity and sampling time of the mobile terminal; arranging the side edge of the mobile terminal determined as the reference value in parallel with the direction of an object to be measured, and aligning the start position of the side edge of the mobile terminal with the start position of the direction of the object to be measured; the rotation of the mobile terminal is the rotation from the start position of the object to be measured to the end position of the object to be measured; determining the rotation angle of the mobile terminal based on the rotational angular velocity and sampling time; and computing the length in the direction of the object to be measured based on the rotation angle.
