PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image capturing lens which offers brightness of F2.5 or brighter and a wide view angle and is well corrected for various aberrations at a low cost.SOLUTION: An image capturing lens comprises a positive first lens L1 having a convex surface on the object side, a meniscus-shaped negative second lens L2 having a concave surface on the object side, a bi-aspherical third lens L3, a bi-aspherical fourth lens L4, a positive fifth lens L5 having an image-side surface that is convex near an optical axis, and a bi-aspherical negative sixth lens L6 having an image-side surface that is concave near the optical axis, arranged in order from the object side with an air gap between each adjacent pair, where the image-side surface of the sixth lens has an inflection point at a position other than the optical axis. The image capturing lens satisfies the following conditional expressions (1) and (2): (1) 20<&ngr;d1-&ngr;d2<50, (2) 20<&ngr;d1-&ngr;d3<50, where &ngr;d1 represents an Abbe number of the first lens for the d-ray, &ngr;d2 represents an Abbe number of the second lens for the d-ray, and &ngr;d3 represents an Abbe number of the third lens for the d-ray. |
