<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric supercharger capable of making a structure for cooling a bearing simple and saving an installation space.SOLUTION: An electric supercharger 101 comprises: an electric motor 30; a compressor wheel 21; a housing 10 that includes a motor chamber 18 accommodating the electric motor 30; and a first bearing 23 and a second bearing 24 disposed in the motor chamber 18 and rotatably supporting a shaft 22 of the electric motor 30 driving the compressor wheel 21 to rotate. The compressor wheel 21 is arranged below the electric motor 30 in a gravitational direction, and the first bearing 23 is arranged below the second bearing 24 in the gravitational direction. During actuation of the electric motor 30, a swirl flow is generated in the air in the motor chamber 18 such that the air flows along a direction from the first bearing 23 to the second bearing 24 in a proximal portion of the shaft and flows along a direction from the second bearing 24 to the first bearing 23 in a distal portion of the shaft 22.</p> |
