<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that: in the conventional free dummy block exchange device, since it is installed in the upper part of a direct type extrusion press machine, maintenance is difficult, and centering during supply/discharge of a press disc is not easy; and productivity is poor because the exchange of a head is required.SOLUTION: A free dummy block handling device takes out a free dummy block at a die side of a container, retreats to the outside of a machine in a direction orthogonal to an extrusion shaft center of a direct type extrusion press, holds a new free dummy block and then enters into the machine after traveling parallel to a direct type extrusion press machine, and brings the free dummy block into close contact with an extrusion stem from a main cross head side of the container.</p> |
