<p>The present invention relates to a switchgear provided with an arc extinguishing floating shield having a double structure, thereby improving arc extinguishing performance so as to reduce the size and cost of the switchgear. The switchgear of the present invention switches between a first electrode and a second electrode through a movement of one or more of the first electrode and the second electrode. The switchgear comprises an arc extinguishing floating shield disposed to surround at least one part of a space between the first electrode and the second electrode. The arc extinguishing shield comprises: a center part which is a ferromagnetic substance; and an outer part surrounding a part or a whole of the center part and having conductivity higher than that of the center part. The switchgear according to the present invention can increase arc extinguishing effects and electric field alleviating effects by eddy current so as to reduce an arc extinguishing time, and can minimize spacing between electrodes so as to promote a further reduction in the size and cost of equipment.</p> |
