The present invention provides a device and a method for changing the operation status of an electronic device using a built-in battery. The method and the device changing the operation status can detect an event requiring the operation status to be changed. When the event is detected, the device can switch the battery used for the operation of the electronic device from a first detachable battery to a second battery built in the electronic device. The method and the device can change the operation status of the electronic device by using the second battery as the power source.
