PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-shaped sheet superposition mechanism, a folding machine, a printer, and a sheet-shaped sheet superposition method in which two pages of a leaf can be inserted to a signature having a page count of a multiple of 4.SOLUTION: A sheet-shaped sheet superposition mechanism comprises holding cylinders 32, 34 which comprise paper end holding mechanisms 32a, 34a capable of holding font end edge parts of first sheet-shaped sheets FP1-1, FP1-2 in a conveying direction and are provided rotatably along the conveying direction of the first sheet-shaped sheets FP1-1, FP1-2. The holding cylinders 32, 34 are configured to wind the first sheet-shaped sheets FP1-1, FP1-2 that have reached the holding cylinders 32, 34 by the paper end holding mechanisms 32a, 34a, release the first sheet-shaped sheets FP1-1, FP1-2 at the timing when second sheet-shaped sheets FP2-1, FP2-2 reach the holding cylinders 32, 34, and superpose the first sheet-shaped sheets FP1-1, FP1-2 on the second sheet-shaped sheets FP2-1, FP2-2. |
