Provided are a transmission method and a user equipment, which can improve the encoding and decoding performance of a discovery signal. The method comprises: a user equipment (UE) determining a first discovery signal; the UE obtaining respective initial positions of k redundancy versions (RVs) of the first discovery signal after encoding the first discovery signal, k being a positive integer not less than 1; according to the respective initial positions of f RVs in the k RVs, the UE mapping each RV of the f RVs respectively onto at least two physical resource block pairs (PRB Pairs) in a first resource position, f being a positive integer not less than 1 and not greater than k; and the UE transmitting the f RVs of the first discovery signal at the first resource position. |
