PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste composition for microporous layer formation which makes it possible to suppress the strike-through of a paste component and achieve good smoothness without increasing the load by the step for drying a microporous layer more than needs.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a paste for a microporous layer comprises the steps of: mixing and dispersing a material including a blend of acetylene black of carbon particles as a conductive material, PTFE emulsion as a water-repellent resin, Triton X-100 as a dispersant, an ion exchanged water as a dispersant, and as a thickener, a low-molecular weight polyethylene oxide having an average molecular weight of 1,100,000-1,500,000 for three minutes by a planetary mixing defoamer set to a revolution of 600 rpm and a rotation of 600 rpm; and then blending, as a thickener, a high-molecular weight polyethylene oxide having an average molecular weight of 3,600,000-4,000,000 in the resultant mixed material, followed by mixing by a stirring device. |
