PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end effector for an electromechanical, hand-held surgical apparatus configured for use with removable disposable loading units.SOLUTION: An end effector 400 includes a mounting portion 430, a first jaw member 410 and a second jaw member 420. The first and second jaw members extend distally from the mounting portion. A fastener cartridge 420a is secured to the second jaw member, and supports a plurality of fasteners in fastener retaining slots defined in a tissue engaging surface of the fastener cartridge. |
