PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ozone generating apparatus in which ozone generated by discharge can be prevented from being exposed to discharge again, and the ozone can hardly be decomposed by a reaction with O atom and a reaction with water molecule and OH group, thereby suppressing reduction in ozone generation.SOLUTION: An ozone generating apparatus includes: one or more electrode pairs each including two electrodes arranged at a distance of a predetermined gap length; and a power source for applying an alternating-current voltage between the two electrodes. In the ozone generating apparatus, ozone is generated when a raw material gas flows at least between the two electrodes of the electrode pair and a discharge is generated between the two electrodes. The ozone generating apparatus has a discharge space formed between the two electrodes, and the ozone generating apparatus satisfies a condition of 0.5<L/V/f, where V (m/s) denotes a flow velocity of the raw material gas flowing through the discharge space, f (Hz) denotes a frequency of the alternating-current voltage, and L (m) denotes a length of the discharge space in the main direction of a flow of the raw material gas. |
