PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the joining time of a web of a sheet-like object and the like in which a single layer or multiple layers of paper, a plastic film, a metal foil, etc. are laminated.SOLUTION: A web joining device connects a cut end of an old film W1 traveling in one direction and a leading end of a new film W2 drawn in the same direction. Sticking rolls 1, 2 are provided on the upper and lower sides of a travel path of the old film W1, and a cutting blade 6 is provided at a front stage of the travel path of the upper sticking roll 1. The leading end of the new film W2 is adsorbed to the lower sticking roll 2 through a joining tape T2, and a joining tape 1 is adsorbed to the upper sticking roll 1 (figure(a)). In this state, the upper and lower sticking rolls 1, 2 come into pressure contact through the old film W1. After cutting the old film W1 with the cutting blade 6, both rolls 1, 2 are rotated in a delivery direction of both films W1, W2, and the cutting end of the old film W1 and the leading end of the new film W2 are abutted. The joining tapes T1, T2 are stuck to both abutted ends so as to join both films W1, W2 (figure (b), (c)).
