The robot includes: acquisition means for acquiring an operation region where the robot passes when the robot operates; setting means for setting the measurement position of the distance sensor for covering the operation region acquired by the acquisition means with the measurement region of the distance sensor; and control means for controlling the robot to operate on the basis of the distance information measured by the distance sensor at the measurement position set by the setting means.
