PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing time and a storage capacity.SOLUTION: A robot includes a distance sensor for measuring a distance to an object in a mobile environment, and autonomously operates on the basis of distance information measured by at least one of the distance sensor and a distance sensor disposed in the mobile environment. The robot includes: acquisition means for acquiring an operation region where the robot passes when the robot operates; setting means for setting the measurement position of the distance sensor for covering the operation region acquired by the acquisition means with the measurement region of the distance sensor; and control means for controlling the robot to operate on the basis of the distance information measured by the distance sensor at the measurement position set by the setting means. |
