SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE

Provided is a side airbag device configured so that gas does not directly hit a sewn section which forms a first end of an inner tube, thereby preventing the first end from being damaged by the gas. A side airbag device comprises: an airbag (2); an inflator (3) for supplying gas to the airbag (2); and a cloth inner tube (4) provided so as to cover the nozzle (3a) of the inflator (3). The inner tube (4) is configured so that: the inner tube (4) protrudes toward the center of the airbag (2) in an expanded state; a first end (4b) located in the direction in which gas is discharged from the inflator (3) is closed; and a second end (4c) of the airbag (2) in the expanded state is open, the second end (4c) intersecting the direction of discharge of gas from the nozzle (3a) of the inflator (3) and being located in the direction of height of the vehicle. When folding the airbag (2) during the installation of the airbag into the seat back (SB) of a seat of a vehicle, the inner tube (4) is folded at a fold (4d) and turned back within the airbag (2).
