<p>The present invention addresses the problem of providing an organic electroluminescent element that has a light-emitting pattern of a prescribed shape and is capable of suppressing reductions in the emitted-light brightness of light-emitting regions, even when driven for a long time. This organic electroluminescent element is characterised in that the organic electroluminescent element (10) as a whole displays a suitable design pattern as a result of: having organic functional layers (3), which include at least hole transport layers (32, 33) and a light-emitting layer (34), between a positive electrode (2) and a negative electrode (4); one of the organic functional layers (3) being formed as a design pattern display control part; and the design pattern display control part comprising regions in which current flows when the organic electroluminescent element (10) is driven and regions in which current flows less readily than in the aforementioned regions.</p> |
