According to the present invention, a memory system includes: multiple non-volatile memory devices which input and output data through multiple ways connected to a single channel in an interleaved manner and individually performs programs operations for the data input according to the interleaved manner; and a controller which accesses the non-volatile memory devices through the ways in the interleaved manner and performs data input operations and data output operations corresponding to the respective non-volatile memory devices. The controller determines the number of the program operations performed simultaneously with one of the data input operations and data output operations according to a preset reference peak current. The determined program operations are performed at the same time with the data input operations and data output operations.
