PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start an engine at a proper timing by obtaining a more exactly estimated inverter temperature rise value that does not include a margin attributable to temperature characteristics of a motor generator torque.SOLUTION: A device for controlling a hybrid vehicle estimates an inverter temperature rise value when an inverter drives a motor generator to start the engine based on a temperature detection value of the motor generator, and selects an HEV travel mode during travelling at an EV travel mode based on an inverter temperature detection value and the estimated inverter temperature rise value to start the engine. |
