PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion member which is used in combination with a semiconductor light-emitting element.SOLUTION: A wavelength conversion member is formed of at least a fluophor and a glass matrix. The glass matrix includes at least silicon (Si), lanthanum (La) and barium (Ba), and in the glass matrix, BaLa(SiO)crystal is included. Because the BaLa(SiO)crystal is included, brightness is maintained and high mechanical strength is achieved in the wavelength conversion member.
