PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fuel cell having good productivity, while ensuring the weld quality of the active area of a metal separator, the outer periphery and the manifold.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a fuel cell has a weld step for mutually welding metal separators 50, 55 provided with active areas 52, 57 in contact with a region contributive to power generation of a membrane electrode assembly, and manifolds 65, 75 which are the parts for circulating reaction gas and refrigerant. The weld step consists of a first weld step for resistance-welding the active areas 52, 57 of the metal separators 50, 55 by sandwiching with weld electrodes, and by electrifying while pressing, and a second weld step for welding the outer peripheries 60, 70 of the metal separators 50, 55 and the manifolds 65, 75, by irradiating with an energy beam. |
