PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for inspecting an optical film.SOLUTION: An optical film inspection apparatus of the present invention is capable of performing all inspection procedures both in a dark mode and white mode as the apparatus comprises: a light source unit which has a first light source for radiating green or blue light and a second light source for radiating red or infrared light to alternately irradiate a polarizing section with light from the first light source and light from the second light source; the polarizing section which includes a film under inspection, located on a path of light entering an imaging unit, and a polarizing plate for inspection; and the imaging unit for capturing images of the polarizing section from a side opposite to the light source unit relative to the polarizing section.
