A method is provided for the gas assisted laser cutting of a metal, metal ahoy, plastic material, composite, ceramic or wooden workpiece with laser light of a wavelength between 300 nm and 2500 nm utilising carbon dioxide as the assist gas. Alternatively, an assist gas supply system is provided wherein a source of assist gas selected from the group consisting of one or more single gas cylinders, connected gas cylinders and gas cylinder bundles is used for supplying the assist gas to a gas assisted laser cutting device able to perform laser cutting. |
