The present invention provides a material which has good compatibility with monomers and can be used as a dispersing agent even when a dispersion prepared using the material is stored over 1 week or longer after the preparation of the dispersion. The dispersion according to the present invention is characterized by comprising metal oxide particles having an average primary particle diameter of 50 nm or less, an organic acid, a dispersion medium, and an organic phosphorus compound represented by formula (1) or an organic sulfur compound represented by formula (2).
