A liquid heating device is provided with: a tank configured so that a liquid heat medium flows into the tank from a medium inlet and flows out of the tank from a medium outlet; an electric heater housed within the tank and heating the liquid heat medium; and a heat detection member for detecting the temperature of the electric heater within the tank. At least a part of the heat detection member is disposed facing either the medium inlet or the medium outlet.
