<p>This invention improves the precision with which the drying speed of a fabric is measured, even with respect to the tolerance range for a reference state. A water application unit (1) causes water to adhere to a test piece (20) of a fabric. A holding unit (2) holds the test piece (20) in a stationary, spread-out state. With the wet test piece (20) held by the holding unit (2), a mass measurement unit (3) continuously measures the mass of said test piece (20) and stores each mass measurement in association with the elapsed time at the time of said measurement. During the period over which the mass measurement unit (3) is measuring the mass of the test piece (20), a temperature/humidity measurement unit (4) continuously measures the temperature and humidity at a prescribed position on the test piece (20) and stores each temperature and humidity measurement in association with the elapsed time at the time of said measurement. Using the temperature and humidity measurements performed by the temperature/humidity measurement unit (4), a temperature/humidity normalization unit (8) expresses mass changes measured by the mass measurement unit (3) in terms of prescribed temperature and humidity conditions.</p> |
