A soft-sided insulated container assembly (20) with a removable thermal storage member (30) mounted therein. The container (20) has a first portion (22) and a second portion (32). The first portion (22) forms a body and the second portion (32) forms a lid movable between a first position obstructing access to a chamber defined in the first portion and a second position permitting access. The lid (32) has a structural frame (34) having members defining a seat for the thermal storage member when the lid is in the first position.
