PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint capable of positively locking a cap nut.SOLUTION: There are provided a holder cylinder 3 having an elongated holding hole 5 passed through in a direction of a joint axis center L and an elongated engaging cone 6 of circular truncated cone held in the holding hole 5 so as to cause a large diameter end surface 9 to face inside of the joint. A cap nut 24 engaged with a joint main body 1 in thread and having a tapered inner surface 7 is outwardly fitted to the holder cylinder 3 to restrict the engaging cone 6 from releasing in a radial direction and to cause an outer circumferential end edge 10 of the large diameter end surface 9 of the engaging cone 6 to bite into the pipe outer circumferential surface to be engaged with it. The outer circumferential surface 11 of the joint main body 1 is formed with a temporary locking small protrusion 12 at an outside in an axial direction for preventing a loosened engagement in thread of the cap nut 24 under non-used assembled state and a real locking small protrusion 13 at an inside in an axial direction for preventing a loosened engagement in thread of the cap nut 24 under a final connected state. An inner end of the cap nut 24 is formed with a stepped part 14 that can be engaged in sequence in correspondence with the temporary locking small protrusion 12 and the real locking small protrusion 13 as the cap nut 24 is advanced in thread.
