<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process of manufacture capable of attaining a low cost and light weight of a telescopic shaft for sliding one of an outer shaft and an inner shaft against the other when the manufacture is carried out.SOLUTION: A telescopic shaft 1 includes a hollow outer shaft 3, an inner shaft 2 spline fitted to the outer shaft 3 and a resin film arranged in at least any of splines 5, 4 of the outer shaft 3 and the inner shaft 2, and the telescopic shaft 1 can be extended or retracted in an axial direction X. The process of manufacture of the telescopic shaft 1 comprises a step for press fitting the inner shaft 2 to the outer shaft 3; a sliding step for sliding any one of the outer shaft 3 and the inner shaft 2 to the other by reciprocating it in an axial direction X. At the sliding step, a frequency corresponding to a sliding speed when one shaft is slid in respect to the other shaft is lower by a prescribed value at the starting time of sliding operation, and when a sliding load of one shaft in respect to that of the other shaft is reduced, the frequency is increased continuously or in a stepwise manner.</p> |
