<p>The device (1) has an input unit for a protective conductor (PEN), and a rectifier (5) connected with an alternating voltage input (2). A voltage measuring device (7) measures voltages (U1, U2) among the conductor and two output voltage potentials of the rectifier. An evaluation circuit (8) is connected to the measuring device, and evaluates time course of the measured voltages and an error signal in event of abnormality. An optical and/or acoustic output unit is connected to the evaluation circuit, and outputs an optical and/or acoustic signal when the error signal indicates an error. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a battery charging device.</p> |
