PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery which is inexpensive and particularly excellent in cycle characteristics and safety.SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery includes a cathode, an anode, and an organic electrolyte. The lithium ion secondary battery also includes, between the cathode and the anode: a base material layer (I) which is formed of a microporous membrane mainly composed of a thermoplastic resin, and has a shutdown temperature of 135-150°C or includes a polyethylene layer; a filler layer (II) mainly containing an inorganic filler; and a resin layer (III) mainly containing resin particles having a melting point in a range of 100-130°C. The filler layer (II) is laminated on one surface of the base material layer (I), and the resin layer (III) is laminated on the other surface. |
