<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner that automatically accumulates dust filtered by an air filter in a dust box and removes the dust with the dust box still attached to an indoor unit even when a predetermined quantity of dust is accumulated. <P>SOLUTION: The indoor unit is provided with an air filter automatic cleaning means including a dust box having a movable cover for opening/closing the opening of a dust receiving part. A side cover provided with a discharging nipple communicating with the dust receiving part is connected to one end in a lengthwise direction, of the dust box. A drive force conversion mechanism which energizes the turning of the movable cover in the direction for blocking the opening, and a duct assembly which forms a nozzle insertion hole to be usually blocked by a movable valve and to be opened to form a suction route to the dust receiving part through a discharging nipple on an outer surface of the indoor unit, are both connected with the side of the side cover. A cleaning nozzle joint is inserted into the nozzle insertion hole from the outer surface of the indoor unit, the drive force conversion mechanism is operated by the insertion force to block the opening of the dust receiving part in the dust box with the movable cover, and a hose of a vacuum cleaner is connected to the cleaning nozzle joint to collect the dust from the dust box through the operation from the outside of the indoor unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
