<p>A tank has a double skinned wall having a plurality of outer wall panels 8 and an inner wall panel 9. Each outer wall panel has a first portion, a second portion inwardly of the first portion (17 & 18, figs 5, 6), and a bracing portion 11 formed as a flange extending inwardly from an end of the first portion opposite the second portion, the depth of the flange increasing towards upper 10a and lower 10b ends. The inner wall panel 9 has a central portion, and upper and lower portions (12a, 12b, fig 2) extending inwardly from the central portion so as to conform to an edge profile of the bracing portion. The second portion an outer wall panel is joined to the flange of a second outer wall panel, and the inner wall panel is joined to at least one of the bracing portions to form the double-skinned wall. In use the wall forms two (inner and outer) secure containment tanks separated by a void, which are strong enough to resist hydrostatic pressure from hazardous fluidic contents such as fuel.</p> |
