The invention relates to a thermal conductivity detector comprising at least four detector components (1-4) arranged in receptacles (5-8) of a thermal conduction block (9) in a circle around a center axis (15) of the thermal conduction block (9). To allow for compensation of thermal crosstalk between the detector components (1-4), the thermal conduction block (9) comprises:
a central portion (14) along the axis (15), the cross-axial dimensions of the central portion (14) being less than the diameter of the circle and having n- fold rotational symmetry (n being the number of peripheral portions), and
at least four equal peripheral portions (10-13) which are connected thermally solely to the central portion (14) and apart from that are thermally separated from each other, each of the peripheral portions being arranged symmetrically about the circle, each of the peripheral portions (10-13) carrying one of the detector components (1-4). |
