<p>The present invention relates to an LNG-FPSO or FLNG methanol production system and a method thereof. More specifically, the methanol production system converts the carbon dioxide included in the offshore natural gas to methanol. The methanol production system includes: an injection separator which is installed on the top side of the LNG-FPSO or FLNG, and receives the natural gas supplied from an offshore oil fields to separate the gas into three phases; a methanol reactor which receives the gas separated in the injection separator to synthesize methanol by the catalytic reaction of the methane and carbon dioxide contained in the gas; a methanol storage tank for receiving and storing the methanol synthesized in the reactor; and a membrane which is installed on the rear end of the reactor, receives the gas from the reactor when the reaction is completed, and removes H_2 and CO from the gas. The gas without the H_2 and CO is supplied to an LNG production system. When the LNG-FPSO or FLNG is applied to the offshore oil fields containing a large amount of acid gases, the present invention converts a large amount of carbon dioxide to methanol, thereby significantly reducing the carbon dioxide emission and securing the economic efficiency.</p> |
