According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for controlling a terminal including a camera includes the steps of: receiving an image captured by the camera; extracting the information regarding one or more target objects from the received image; calculating the distance between the target objects and the terminal based on the extracted information regarding the target objects; and outputting an audio signal determined based on the calculated distance between the target objects and the terminal. The present invention can determine the information regarding the terminal and adjacent objects based on the image information received to multiple visual input devices and provides an audio output based on the determined information. The present invention uses different valid identification distance and identification methods according to the distance to the adjacent objects to provide the information regarding different adjacent objects according to the behavior patterns of a user.
