In the present invention, there is described a medium for the protein-free and serum-free cultivation of cells, especially mammalian cells, whereby the medium contains more than 10 percent by weight of soy hydrolyzate, based on the medium dry matter total weight, wherein at least 40 percent of said soy hydrolyzate has a molecular weight less than or equal to 500 Daltons. The invention also provides the use of such culture medium for the cultivation of mammalian cells, further a method of cultivation cells, cell culture and process for preparing medium therefor. |
