METHOD AND APPARATUS OF RETRANSMISSION BASED ON SOFT COMBINING IN CONTENTION BASED ACCESS SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for an efficient and reliable retransmission based on a soft combining for using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in a contention based access system. The present invention includes the steps of: receiving data signals from transmission nodes; combining the currently received data signals with the valid period of the data signals which are received in advance; determining the collision period of the currently received data signals; and storing the valid period except for the collision period of the currently received data signals in buffer. According to the present invention, in a contention based access using the OFDM, in the case where data reception failure occurs due to transmission collision, the present invention can detect the valid part of the received data signals and use the valid part efficiently for a soft combining and also can increase the reception possibility of data signals.
