<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program capable of calculating a center position of each detection object even when plural detection objects are positioned in arbitrary directions. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for calculating center position of a detection object including at least a part of a cylinder or ball having a known radius. The method includes the steps of: obtaining an input image of at least one detection object; extracting an area corresponding to a shape of the detection object from the input image; obtaining a piece of height information of the extracted area; determining a normal direction of the relevant portion by identifying a portion having the maximum brightness in the extracted area; and determining the center position of the detection object based on the determined normal direction, the known radius, the position with the maximum brightness and the corresponding height information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
